Privacy Policy — Quiz Zone
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Quiz Zone ("the App", "we", "us") is developed and published by
Buddha Shrestha. This policy explains what data the App collects,
why, and how it's handled. It covers the Android app (package
com.buddha.quiz_zone) and applies equally to any iOS
release.
Quiz Zone has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no login. You never give us a name, email, or password.
1. Data we collect
Stays on your device by default
- Quizzes, Fill-in-the-Blanks, Match-the-Following, and True/False topics you create — including any question text, answers, and images you attach — are stored only in the App's local storage on your device. We never see this content unless you explicitly choose to submit a topic for public review (see §2 below).
- Exporting or sharing a topic: each Maker
screen lets you export a topic as a
.txtfile and hand it to your device's native share sheet — at that point the file leaves your device to whatever app or contact you choose (email, messaging apps, etc.). We are not involved in that transfer and never receive a copy of it ourselves. - Camera and Photo Gallery: attaching an image to a question uses your device's camera or photo gallery via the App's image picker. This is only to let you pick or take a photo — the image itself stays in local storage with the rest of the topic, per the point above.
- App preferences (e.g. an admin password you set for creator features) are also stored locally on your device only.
Collected automatically, via Google Firebase
The App uses the following Firebase services to operate reliably and to understand how it's used. These are provided by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy practices as well as this policy:
| Service | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | App interactions (screens viewed, buttons tapped), device/OS info, an anonymous app-instance identifier | Understand feature usage and improve the App |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reports (stack traces, device model, OS version) | Diagnose and fix bugs |
| Firebase Authentication (Anonymous) | A random anonymous identifier generated on first launch, tied to no personal information | Lets our cloud database tell one installation's requests apart from another's, e.g. for rate-limiting topic submissions |
| Firebase App Check | Device/app integrity signals (via Google Play Integrity on Android) | Confirms requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App rather than a script |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | A device push-notification token | Lets us send app-wide announcements/notifications; the App subscribes every install to a single broadcast topic |
| Firebase Remote Config | None of your data — the App only reads configuration flags we publish (e.g. feature toggles, minimum required app version) | Lets us roll out features and required updates without an app release |
We do not use this data for advertising, and the App shows no ads.
Sent to Google's Gemini AI, only if you use "Generate with AI"
If you use the optional AI-assisted topic generation feature, the subject/topic text you type is sent directly from your device to Google's Gemini API to generate a set of questions. This is subject to Google's Gemini API terms and privacy practices. We do not store or see this text ourselves — it goes directly from your device to Google.
2. Publishing a topic publicly ("Submit for Review")
If you choose to submit one of your topics for public review, its full content — questions, answers, and any images — is uploaded to our cloud database (Google Cloud Firestore) together with your anonymous device identifier and a submission timestamp (used only to enforce a one-submission-per-24-hours limit per device). A human moderator reviews the submission before it becomes visible to other users; once approved, it is publicly viewable by anyone using the App.
Please don't include personal information (your name, contact details, photos of identifiable people, etc.) in anything you submit for public review — approved content is visible to all users of the App and we do not screen for personal information beyond appropriateness for the review.
You can request removal of a topic you've published by contacting us (§6) with enough detail to identify it (title, approximate submission date).
3. Data we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos beyond what you deliberately attach to a quiz topic, or any payment information. The App has no in-app purchases or ads.
4. Third parties
The only third party that processes data on our behalf is Google, through Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication, App Check, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Firestore) and the Gemini API described above. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles data on its infrastructure.
5. Children's privacy
Quiz Zone does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The App requires no account, and locally created content never leaves the device unless the user actively chooses to submit it for public review. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the public review feature, contact us (§6) and we will remove it.
6. Your choices and rights
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications for the App at any time in your device's system settings.
- Local data: uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage from your device's app settings, permanently deletes everything stored locally, including topics you haven't submitted for review.
- Published content: contact us to request removal of a topic you previously submitted and had approved.
- Questions or deletion requests: reach us at the email below.
7. Data security
Data in transit to our Firebase project is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Public write access to our cloud database is restricted by Firebase security rules and requires passing App Check, so only the genuine App can submit content.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
